Same thing happened to me when I installed Snow Leopard. I found out that it was a hoax. In Snow Leopard they have made 1KB = 1000 Bytes which makes my 160 GB hard drive 160.04 GB rather than 154 GB. So in essence they have made some of that free space by doing the space calculations like a hard drive manufacturer. The other space comes from loading the print drivers on the fly as you need them rather than loading all the print drivers at installation.

Muhahaha... Been there, done that! I was helping Chris with his Vista MCE box and the PVR-500 card had terrible looking recordings. We pulled the PVR-150 card out and isolated the card with the problem. Updated the drivers, still looked like crap. Grabbed the latest firmware and flashed the card (FLASH THE BIOS!). Of course, it was the last time the vista load booted. We couldn't even get it to boot without any tuner cards in it! It was late, I handed Chris the vista install disc. I told him to deal with it tomorrow. He didn't listen, he wanted to get it fixed that night. I got a call the next day telling me that he should have waited and that the machine was still not working. He got it fixed a day later with a new vista load. The recordings still look like crap (of course). Were gonna end up getting a second PVR-150 card and throwing the PVR-500 in the stash. I had that card looking good in the LinuxMCE build I had before.
